CU has rejoined the Big 12 and broken college football - talking out asses continues

I'm not thrilled about the big XII but CU made the right move at the right time. Just like CP had to purge the roster to completely get rid of the loosing culture, CU had to get out of the conference where they have been the Rutgers or Vanderbilt of the PAC since they joined. New coach, new players, new conference, new attitude. The next few years will be exciting.

Hindsight, and should have been foresight, the ONLY way the PAC 12 network with full rights control MIGHT have worked was if the PAC dominated college football over that time. Like Alabama/Georgia type dominance where they were the teams to beat and watch and middle of the pack teams consistently being ranked, giving the PAC leverage. Instead, the PAC was the worst. Risky gamble for not a lot of added reward.
Hindsight would have been a PAC-16 with Texas and Oklahoma (and 2 more)... but that mistake was made a long time ago. There is absolutely NO business model thinking. The Pac-12 died because they stuck to the 1900's view of elite academics and kids playing sports.

The Pac-12 refused to believe that College football is really a business.

You have anger issues.
I'm actually the most laid back guy you'll ever meet.

Been listening to some of the national CFB pods and I have to say, while they are mostly agreeable with CU making this decision, there is still this "meh" mentality about the value of Colorado. One of the guys on Fornelli's pod said CU football had a ceiling of being around 60th and that they don't really have the potential to come in and dominate even the Big 12.

Klatt's "emergency" pod was pretty good and while he's obviously a bit of a homer, I think there's more logic and he understands the value of Colorado's brand going forward.
Klatt, absent-mindedly rubbing his neck: "The Big 12 feels like a safer conference now that Texas is gone."

I’m just happy that Utah will get to wander in the desert like the heroes from their favorite Book!
I've got mixed emotions on that. I mean, I don't love the Utah fans or school, but I don't really hate them either.

They truly did everything right from a program standpoint. They built a winning tradition and I enjoyed watching them beat Alabama in a BCS bowl a while back, and I also enjoyed their annual drubbing of USC (even if it kept the PAC out of the playoffs).

What is preventing them from being a desired piece in another P4? That they used to be a Mountain West team? That doesn't seem fair.

So on one hand, **** Utah. On the other, their exclusion feels like just another thing wrong with college football.

That’s exactly why I love it Ken. They tried their little hearts out. We didn’t give a **** and hired Karl Dorrell. Yet here we are. Smug. Champions. Lording over their little blue collar Mormon asses from afar. Let them burn and accept their sins of arrogance and hubris

While we indulge our own unearned arrogance and hubris? I LOVE IT!

They built a f***** temple next to my high school and we were overrun within a year. You guys merely adopted the dark. I’ve been prepared for this moment my entire life
In a perfect world BYU, ASU, UofA and UU would create the Joey Smith 4 conference and go off in the desert and preach diddle each other for eternity.

I'd like to see Utah come along. Putting them in the same conference as BYU would bring the lulz.

The Mormons are primarily at BYU.

I know, right?

I feel like Utah is really getting screwed in all this. I think it’s somewhat self inflicted, and somewhat imposed on them by BYU. Given the choice between the two programs, I’d take Utah every day and twice on Sundays (when BYU won’t even play anyway).

Its been reported that Utah Admin has burned a lot of bridges with the B12 Admin so I think they are way down the list. UU fans have all said they are too good for the B12 and are sure to be added next to the B1G. I say we go with their plan.
