The Prime effect is real, the powers that be will want us in the Top 25 by the time the KSU game happens, so maybe we sneak in at 25 and stay there on the bye, or we prowl at #26 and then wait for another team to fall out, but it WILL happen because we have the "it"
I understand and agree with the concepts of managing risks. Nobody wants to see a key player lost after a game is over.
A thought though about this. The Buffs are not a team that knows a lot about winning, they haven't earned the right to coast to a win.
One of the messages that Prime needs to get these guys to understand is that they can't assume a game is over, win or loss. That winners play until the final whistle.
They are rare but there are examples of teams letting off the gas only to lose games just as there are examples of teams who came back from multiple score deficits late.
Bama and Ohio State have earned the right to consider games finished, CU hasn't yet.

ABC can have a great day if they have Oklahoma v Texas during the day and Colorado v K State at night

OU-Texas is set for 3:30 on either ABC or ESPN.
That's all that's set at this point. But I'm expecting that the KSU-CU game will end up on either ABC or Fox
