Official 2016 Coaching Carousel Thread - How safe is Kevin Sumlin´s job?

Kind of surprised if Mizzou is going to be able to pry away Fedora from North Carolina, I'd be surprised if North Carolina didn't just give him big raise instead after their season this year. Is the allure of the S-E-C really that big a deal for a coach, its freaking Mizzery for pete's sake.

You'd think it'd be a hell of a lot easier to win consistently at big school like UNC in a wide open ACC then a third tier SEC school.

Also on why Dykes may be looking to leave (on top of the academic and AD changes) is that the timing is good. If you're a HC who isn't looking to be a lifer, the time to get out is on the heels of having a great quarterback rather than seeing what opportunities are there for you after the likely step back the program takes in the reshuffle year that follows.

Same reason it's good timing for Dan Mullen. I doubt he has another Dak Prescott ready to step in at QB.

If Dykes is in play, I'd love to see RG and Benson on a plane and talking oil business with him at a chance encounter at some airport!

Kind of wishing Richt would take a year off to recharge so he would be waiting in the wings next year if we needed to make a move, lol.

If LSU´s boosters are following the script of their brethren at Auburn with Tuberville Les Miles will be there for real in 12 months.

Jeff Tedford resigns from the CFL gig he had to pursue college coaching opportunities. Something is in the works.....JT was a dark horse I had for the CU job IF, and I realize how unlikely it is now, MikMac were not retained. I think he is a good get for somebody in the P12, but who knows, it will be interesting to watch.
If Dykes is going to Missou, would Tedford go back to Cal with new AD?
I was hoping he was pursuing an OC position at CU.

I don't know, but I think if Tedford resigned an HC gig, even in the CFL, it is because he has a line on something in the college ranks. If the job ended up being OC at CU, I would be pretty happy with that. His tenure at Cal ended on a sour note, and with Cal going full Bitsy Hoffman, I kind of doubt he is heading back to Berkeley if Dykes leaves.

Not a lot of HC jobs available in the west this year even looking at FCS. But it's hard for me to see him in an OC job at the college level. Never know, though.

Well, OU is now in the market for an OC, CU maybe and Utah seems to change OC's semi-annually.

Third tier school that won their division twice in recent years. Already proven that Mizzou can win in the SEC. Any good coach sees that and believes he can as well.

Couple reports stating that Miami is Richt's job if he wants it. He's interviewing at UVA today. Something should pop soon.

I'd hate to be the AD or the President of UGA if Richt wins a NC in Miami in the next 4-6 years.

Was really hoping Virginia would land a big coach like Richt, I wonder who they will do after now.

Bear boards alive with rumors Sonny Dykes interviewing with S. Car. Sounds like his bags are packed, just waiting on a ticket out of town.

Dueling tweets from ESPN guys.

McMurphy confirmed Richt to Miami.
Schlabach then said he's considering, hasn't accepted, and isn't sure he wants to coach next year.
