Aaron Opelt. He had 169 yards rushing that year. 110 came against us…on 6 ****ing carriesWell, maybe someday they'll fix it. That fat **** shouldn't have done that to us back then. Dude we just played is actually an athlete. Also, it looked like we were running in sand against the Toledo guy and I'm pretty sure they had like 57 points.
You seem incapable of understanding my point. I don't think it's the first time that has happened.320 yards rushing allowed, it's the QBs fault.
What’s anyone’s justification for thinking that a team with an average defense and no passing game is good?Turning the ball over 3 times is not a norm for this GT team. There is nothing showing that ISU is more solid than GT.
And I have no idea why do you think ASU, while won’t be as good as last year, is still better than tech this year. You have no justification for that.
You are making some emotional judgement, that's fine.
their games last yearWhat’s anyone’s justification for thinking that a team with an average defense and no passing game is good?
And, just so you know, FSU crushed Alabama last night with 150 passing yards. What’s anyone’s justification for thinking that a team with an average defense and no passing game is good?
Ok you want to rule out ASU’s games last year despite them being in the playoff but want to consider Techs games from last year. On last year alone ASU beats Tech by thirty.their games last year
Wait until we get to 4th and 10Now do 3rd & 10. Hyper trigger warning.
I can agree that ASU last year is probably better than GT.Ok you want to rule out ASU’s games last year despite them being in the playoff but want to consider Techs games from last year. On last year alone ASU beats Tech by thirty.
And this, again, is your emotional assessment. On last year alone ASU beats Tech by thirty.
It’s probably not fair, but KS had 2 opportunities to stake claim to “dawg” status.“No dog.” This is exactly what those in the know say.
CU plays Kansas in the Big 12 title game.Colorado doesn't play Kansas this year. They play K St though.
lol okay. But PFF grades! 320 yards rushing and the defense was fine. Mmkay. You seem incapable of understanding my point. I don't think it's the first time that has happened.
I haven't referenced PFF grades or suggested the defense was fine, so I'm not sure where that's coming from. I routinely acknowledged that GT ran over the top of us. What I said is that the defense did enough.lol okay. But PFF grades! 320 yards rushing and the defense was fine. Mmkay.
Tell me about your cow mousing capabilities!lol okay. But PFF grades! 320 yards rushing and the defense was fine. Mmkay.
The ACTUAL point is that there's plenty of blame to go around, on both sides of the ball.
I’m on the next stair north of that, so one section over. I never saw any sign of a disturbance. Damn!Campus police are seeking witnesses, videos of a man hurt in disturbance on the stairs between 105 and 106.
You said the defense did enough and that it was primarily on the QB play. It's not hard to grasp. There were too many issues, from coaching, to the defense, to the play calling, to the QB play, to pin it on one thing. That's the point. 320 rushing yards allowed is the defense "doing enough". That is bat****.I haven't referenced PFF grades or suggested the defense was fine, so I'm not sure where that's coming from. I routinely acknowledged that GT ran over the top of us. You remind me of myself in high school, when I thought yards on offense and yards on defense were the most important thing. Points are a thing too. Turnovers are a thing.
The story of our loss was our inability to sustain drives. And our inability to sustain drives was about missed opportunities by our QB to scramble for an easy first down, or make an easy throw for a first down.
Again, you have demonstrated an inability, or an unwillingness to understand my point.
If you would have told me before the game that we would hold GT to under 30 points I would have been happy and expected a win.You said the defense did enough and that it was primarily on the QB play. You're hyper focusing on one thing and then taking some intellectual superiority angle when in reality you're being obtuse. I understand perfectly what you're saying, it's just nonsense. Two of those turnovers were absolute gifts that CU had nothing to do with. Without those GT probably scores well into the 30s. The defense did enough to lose the game, just like the offense, just like the coaches. Thats_the_point.
KS sucked. The play calling sucked. The game management sucked. The defense sucked.
27 first downs.
463 yards
6-11 on 3rd down and 1-1 on 4th.
Game losing 45 yard TD run on a series GT didn't even attempt a pass. They capitulated.
Each side of the ball needed the other to be better to win the game, and they weren't.
Offense was more concerning to me. Although, LB play overall was the worst thing on the field. Yeah, I’m using the word “thing” here. Hart has got to go. Prime, you did all you could, but he can’t coach football. Maybe he can motivate, maybe he’s a great human being. But his players don’t know what to do. We were getting somewhere with Helow, but the recruits aren’t going to come for Hart, so we’re a couple years out from decent players even if you get rid of Hart at the end of the year. Maybe he can become a guru at time management and at least tell you when to call timeouts? You said the defense did enough and that it was primarily on the QB play. It's not hard to grasp. ThisThey didn't get points off of turnovers, that got them beat. Not the only thing but a big part of it.
They did Run Blitz and they were in the wrong hole every time. There were a few times we put in a 5 man front, with actually DL and they threw the ball semi-effectively, but they did not run hardly ever when we went big. If our LB’s are small, then adding a small safety like Finneseth or Byard did not help at all.on D maybe Livingston should have brought a safety up and did more run blitzing. shoot the gaps until king showed he could throw deep. Bring that run support up, stop the run should have been top priority. Make them throw.
Points off the turnovers would have of course helped with that pressure.
Livingston has to figure out college football offenses and running QBs. Not the same as pro ball.
Delaware's Qb can run it as well.according to the "PFF" game review, King gained 145 yards rushing before contact!! Shades of Baylor last year (and every other running QB). How can Livingston be so unable to address this issue? Play calling seemed to be done, without understanding Salter's skill sets.
most players have to be questioning their coaches abilities. and not 1 of them buys CP's explanation for not calling TO at the end.
They are young and hopefully crushing Delaware will get them some confidence.
I would argue that if your team has the ball on the last possession, and you’re within one score…then yes, your defense did enough. You said the defense did enough and that it was primarily on the QB play.
