Official Allbuffs CFB gambling thread

Life in the fast lane: I bet the Hawaii game. Over 13.5 for the 1st Q, under 31 for the half. $2 each, won $3.64. I'm slowly building the pot for the Buff game. Was it GB's team, last time we played tex post-season?

Free money alert! Another spread the love event on fan duel just started for the patriots game. The line will keep moving based on how many bets are placed.

**Edit** Line is up to +65. Feeling pretty confident now!

On the Spread the Love promotion, and I'm gonna be in on some of these bigger bowl games. I like CU +9.5 and the Cotton Bowl over (total is 71.5 as of right now). CFP-Leaning toward going over in both games, and I might take Ohio State if the spread in the Sugar bowl gets up to 9 or 10.

I don’t know for sure if DraftKings promotions are personalized, but it sure seems like they are.

When I don’t bet for a few days, they hit me up with some pretty obviously favorable promotions that make it easy to place a bet. Today was +150 on the money line of the Seahawks - Chargers game - you could bet either side. They do make it a $25 max bet since that is clearly not in their favor.

When I do bet multiple games over a weekend, they hit me with “Make 3 $100 bets and get a $25 bet for free!” Yeah, the largest bet I’ve placed to date is $25 and that’s rare. Mostly I do $5 bets with the occasional $10 thrown in. That “promotion” isn’t remotely interesting enough to move to higher stakes.

I just find it interesting to watch their communications and promotions. I’m working under the assumption they know what they are doing and are essentially printing money on the back end with most people losing over the long run. I’m very content being + $53 since I started even with 4 outstanding bets right now.

I have $6 spread over 5 NFL bets this morning. Forcing myself to be fiscally conservative.

I've been doing pretty well betting NCAA BB O/Us, including first half O/Us. I don't bet NBA at all, but noticed that with college games the 1st half O/U is usually less than 1/2 the full game O/U. In the NBA, it's often more than half the full game. An example today, Bovada:
Drake O/U = 145.5, half-time O/U is 68.
Dallas Ms O/U 228.5, half is 116.5.
The Drake example is big a difference, but most college games are less than half.
So, I've bet some 1st half O/Us lately. Like the Drake game. I see that 1st half number as inviting. I may bet $1 or $2.
Anyone explain why the difference? thanks. I thought about extra foul shots as the game winds down, but that should be the same NBA or NCAA, I'd guess.

That promo wasn’t personalized. I hit the Seattle ML for the $25 at that +150. I went 7-0 in the late window NFL games between totals, spreads and MLs. Did I parlay any of that stuff together? No, of course not. Still a very nice profitable afternoon. Also extended my lead in a pick em pool that picks every game against the spread. Was up 2 on a handful of people, nice day expanded my lead to 5 with next week and the playoffs to go.

Because some of us still have to go stock up on Ramen noodles for the week Mr. Deep Pockets!

I just started on DraftKings and don't have anything of value to offer in this thread, other than this **** is ****ing frustrating. That and **** the New Jersey Nets.

Hope you earned yourself a few cup of noodles after this weekend !

I just got an email from elite sportsbook with a $100 risk free bet promo for bowl week. $100 free bet if you lose your first $100 bet of bowl week. Because I have no sack, instead of throwing it all on the CU money line, I put down $100 on CU +4.5 @ +140.

The risk free bet is a total advertising scam though. But I still value a free bet at about 1/2 the stated value as you have to bet it and a normal bet wins oh about 50% of the time. So in this case (CU +4.5), I see this as risking $50 to win $140. If you put it on the moneyline, that's essentially risking $50 to win $250. The elite sportsbook site is kinda beat though, can't really say I'd recommend it. It doesn't load like 1/2 the time, just a blank screen for hours at a time, on both my cell and cpu.

Draft Kings has a daily promo for a free $10 bet with a $25 moneyline bet on a college underdog. So I have $25 on CU at +310. (And $25 on Oregon at +185... And will make a daily underdog bet for the hell of it - just to make an evening game watchable if nothing else).

PointsBet has an offer for $6 per CU TD if you bet $50 on the spread. So there I'm in for $50 on CU +7.5.

Miami +2.5
Texas -9.5 😬
CU/Tex over 63.5
Thanks, Manhattan.
