This is a great argument that CU's AD will actually hire FrostThe optics of hiring frost after the abject disaster that was his stay at nebraska... woof.

At first I thought it was a joke it now I see actually serious about hiring Frost in some capacity. You must be a Nub troll trying to offset the buyout for Frost. Why the F would CU hire a guy that was absolutely poo at NU. He sucked on the sidelines during games making dumb decision after another, and could not develop players. If we wanted to deal with all that crap we would have just keep KD.
At first I thought it was a joke now I actually see some folks are serious about hiring Frost in some capacity.
To these folks, all I can say is pls get back on your meds!
@The Alabaster Yak mentioned Kent State's HC in another thread. I don't know much about him at all, other than he doesn't have any experience at the P5 level or within the traditional CU recruiting footprint.I like the idea of Kent State's HC, Sean Lewis. The man has done more with less than just about anybody.
When you look at where Kent State was before he got there, where they are now as basically a .500 team with that kind of OOC schedule and essentially no resources, there's definitely some intrigue.@The Alabaster Yak mentioned Kent State's HC in another thread. It's easy to be underwhelmed by his record at Kent State, but they schedule OOC like CU used to: Anyone, anytime, anywhere. They play one OOC cupcake per year then hit the road to get their asses kicked by 3 P5 programs. Since he's been there they've played the following OOC schedules (rankings from the week they played):
2018: @Illinois, @11 Penn St, @Ole Miss
2019ASU, @8 Auburn, @8 Wisconsin
2020: No OOC
2021: @6 A&M, @5 Iowa, @Maryland
2022: @Washington, @7 Oklahoma, @1 Georgia
That's right- since he's been there they've played 7 out of 12 OOC roadies against teams ranked in the top 11.
Next year they get a break because they only play 1 P5 team (Arky) along with UCF and Fresno St.
It resumes in 2024: @Pitt, @Tennessee, @Penn St
The bolded part is what intrigues me. He's turned them around, with next to no resources, and on top plays a ridiculous OOC schedule every year. Imagine what he could do with bottom-of-the-barrel P5 resources! When you look at where Kent State was before he got there, where they are now as basically a .500 team with that kind of OOC schedule and essentially no resources, there's definitely some intrigue.
2018: 2-10
2019: 7-6 with a win over Utah State in Frisco Bowl
2020: 3-1
2021: 7-7 overall, won their division and lost in the MAC CG and lost to Wyoming in the Potato Bowl
2022: 2-3 so far, but losses against Wash, OU and UGA as you noted
An argument can be made that if Kent State decided not to schedule the way they do in OOC, he's more of a 9-10 win/year guy there, so the record is definitely deceiving.
I believe this person posts here sometimes, but I can't remember their screen name. At any rate, they've got it right:The bar is so low for me I just don’t want a NFL WR coach and when they say their name my first reaction isn’t “Who is that?”

Yep, you can’t just look at the W-L record without context. The Kent State coach is like the reverse of Barry Odom, whose tenure at Mizzou is far worse than the W-L record indicates. That guy feasted on really weak OOC, plus Vanderbilt and Arkansas (historicity bad at that time). When you look at where Kent State was before he got there, where they are now as basically a .500 team with that kind of OOC schedule and essentially no resources, there's definitely some intrigue.

Could I interest you in an unknown NFL RB coach? The bar is so low for me I just don’t want a NFL WR coach and when they say their name my first reaction isn’t “Who is that?”
I think you all seriously underestimate the satisfaction of watching Nub fans absolutely SEETHE when Frost kills it at Colorado.
I think you should stop talking before @96 Buff sees this.I think you all seriously underestimate the satisfaction of watching Nub fans absolutely SEETHE when Frost kills it at Colorado.

Here I was thinking this was a safe space
Kirk Ferentz? One thing from the footballscoop podcast on the CU search-they mention there are sitting P5 coaches who have been in their jobs a long time and might be open to a change. This is a job that these types of guys look at and say "Yeah, I'd have a quiet conversation with Colorado. Maybe there's a fit there."
I think I know who one of these guys might be.
He was 32-18 in 4 years at texas, a 8-4 / 8-5 record every year. He only coached two years at Houston and with Texas's talent advantage over virtually every team they play, it's valid criticism BC he won't have that talent at boulderSuch as? Winning? He has a 54-22 record as a HC. Never had a season at .500 or below. HC for six seasons and won 5 bowl games.
If the rule you followed brought you to this, of what use was the rule? If Illinois is a top 10 defense at the end of the year, then we would be idiots for not considering him due to an arbitrary reason. Our only "rules" should be- has he experienced success, does he understand today's cfb landscape, and does he have the energy for restless nights out on the recruiting trail.Right, which would make him a good candidate at CU right now, but we have instituted a “no former Buffs” rule
