Really stupid. Why does MSU go for 2???

They've had Barrett bottled up, I think taking the lead with less than 5 minutes to go qualifies as something.Coaches lose their minds in pressure situations, the 2 would have done nothing for MSU and now they'll lose.

Ever hear of OT?They've had Barrett bottled up, I think taking the lead with less than 5 minutes to go qualifies as something.
Everyone, including me, has.Ever hear of OT?
I guess your crystal ball is clearer than most.Going for two was the correct call. Sparty's offense cannot win an OT game.
Sorry, I don't buy it. I think they would rather be in OT right now with a chance to win, than have just lost.Everyone, including me, has.
I don't love the call, but the argument for it is that you need to stop tOSU and score again in regulation or do the same thing in OT to win if you take the 1; now they still have to stop tOSU and score again but can only do it in regulation, so not a huge loss for not getting the 1 point.
Conversely, the reward if you make the 2 pointer is that you now only have to stop tOSU if you make it.
Uggh, Michigan State needs to beat Pedo St next week.
**** Ohio State, if they don't win the B1G 10, they don't belong in the CFP.
Well, when you start from the logical premise that there is "zero benefit" to making a 2 point conversion that gives you a lead late in the game, there's just no arguing with you.Sorry, I don't buy it. I think they would rather be in OT right now with a chance to win, than have just lost.
Anyone think that UCLA picks off USC today? I think it will be close, UCLA grasping at a last gasp for bowl eligibility. Same goes for Cal against Stanford.
Yeah, it's all about that balance between most accomplished teams and best teams. The playoff, to my mind, should be about the most accomplished teams; if you just want to crown the best teams, then just go back to the traditional bowls. The CFP sets an objective standard (win 2 playoff games) for the championship, I think winning your conference should be an objective standard that you have to meet to win the title. If they go 11-1 they'll have a hell of an argument with wins at OU, at Wisconsin, and against Michigan, and a 3-point loss at raucous Happy Valley in a game they controlled most of the way. Just because a team doesn't win their conference doesn't mean they still can't be one of the four best teams in the country.
Just like people that try to justify not running Marshawn Lynch in the SB vs. NE. It was a giant ****-up by Carroll.Well, when you start from the logical premise that there is "zero benefit" to making a 2 point conversion that gives you a lead late in the game, there's just no arguing with you.
