The 2021-2022 Coaching Carousel

so where does UO go for a coach?

Chip Kelly seems underwhelming, dude should've stayed at Oregon a decade ago

Matt Campbell/Dave Aranda? Does Phil want to write that check?

coordinator of some sort?

Wilcox is an alum.. recent record is tough

Joey Freshwater coming in hot?

Joe Brady.

That is the type of hire Oregon's been willing to make. They've got DeRuyter in place as DC to give him a veteran ace over there who has HC experience he can utilize behind closed doors.

If we have learned nothing from this, we should learn that we need to be asking the good folks at UC health to finance any future coaching contracts and maybe a few improvements to the stadium.
In a collision of two subject matters maybe UC Health can cure cancer and then plow some of the profits from that success into the football program. Regents happy, sports fans happy!!

Damn straight! Round here, we have socialized pro sports revenue sharing along with pro sports masquerading as amateur sports to avoid paying the athletes... and we love capitalism so we make the sick pay to get healed!!!
Love the post!

But FFS you need learn the difference between capitalism and corporate fascism. Here is a hint: the problem you referenced above is not capitalism.

My point is that we don't engage in market capitalism in US sports. Yet strangely we try to engage in market capitalism in health care where there isn't the necessary factor of an informed buyer with the option of choice (alternate suppliers or the ability to do without). Then we tell ourselves that we're the capitalists while those Euros don't get it and are socialists.

Baylor is willing to match/beat any offer to keep Aranda (according to some buddies whose daddies are big donors and enjoyed winning the B12). I know that Phil is richer but these guys have a lot more life to live and no desire to lose Aranda over 2-3 mill a year.

Oregon’s choices are very limited, actually. Cristobal has built a very strong recruiting program. It’ll be an interesting to see how they recover.

Mercian?

It wouldn’t be sexy, but he is a really good coach who can recruit and build an elite defense. His success would be dependent on him hiring the right OC. A package of Wilcox and Joe Brady would pretty amazing, IMO.
That's what I would do. I'd hire Wilcox and a bunch of money for an OC. I hope Oregon doesn't go that way in fact. I suspect they look for something flashier.

oregon will pull some mutha flicker out of the pool and then justify it with dollars and hype.

they could ****ing hire the gumbo guy and throw 8mm per at him and half the ****ing press would be like "bold hire. they got their guy." and the other half would be like "there are some questions but time will tell."

**** oregon. **** all ducks. **** nike. **** phil knight. **** eugene. **** the entire state and every ****ty ass fair weather fan they have acquired over the years of their underachieving overhyped selves.

Wilcox shine has worn off after two poor seasons. Cal has their issues but I would laugh if Oregon hired Wilcox
