I think he'd have gotten Ole Miss if he hadn't been coming off a losing season.

I don't think so.
Ole Miss was 2017. There was some mutual interest but there was no way Ole Miss could have sold him after the season he had in 17. MM had one foot out the door and sealed his own fate. Could have been a completely different story if he put together a 7 or 8 win season.

Just to spare you some suspense, you probably still have another week or so.
I think we are looking at this the wrong way. It's better to be hopeful for an additional couple weeks, than to be disappointed in CU's inevitably trash hire.

Wilcox to Oregon, with a big budget would be a good hire IMO. There's other hires that would instantly boost their recruiting profile for sure, but Oregon has recruited well enough to be dominant in our conference. I see Wilcox as the next Kyle W level coach but would have a much easier time recruiting to Oregon than Kyle does to Utah, and a much bigger budget to go with it.
Wilcox paired with a very competent OC will yield a team that can compete right away for top 10 level play and with that, recruiting will boost itself because...NIKE.
That's a big advantage that they have. Wilcox just needs to make the right hires and that thing could take off. He's good and there's no question marks there IMO.

I like Wilcox, but the question mark on whether he can find the right OC is definitely there.
