Who Should be the new QB Coach?

So am I to assume that MM is going to keep jeffcoat and bernardi on staff?
Probably. BL leaving was the "big shake up", most likely. Promote from within. Fill out the AC staff with AC's getting huge bumps in pay and status. That way they are beholden to MikMac and no waves will be created. No reason to tap seasoned AC's because everything is going swimmingly. That seems to be the script from where I sit.

One thing that needs to be stressed is that CU needs a new Recruiting Coordinator either out of this hire or with one of the other ones. No one from the current staff should be given that job. I know that both Els (Nebraska) and Bernardi (UCLA) have had that job and that Hagan directed it from an administrative side as Director of Player Personnel at CU. But we need to go outside for this one.

An absolute homerun hire if RG could make the numbers work (h/t to @Liver ) would be: Marques Tuiasosopo. He's QB Coach/ Recruiting Coordinator at Cal after having had a similar role at UCLA. He's slated to make $450k this year, so that would be a big nut -- especially since there would be some shuffling with the Chev contract so he makes more and the Adams salary so he makes the same. But outside of the numbers feasibility, this would be the perfect hire.
I agree that would be a huge hire. Promoting 3 younger ACs, like Taye, DaPrato and CUD could make the numbers work.

Based on 99% of your posts the last 2 weeks, you should just assume a giant ****ing meteor is about to drop on Folsom Field.

Based on the last 2 weeks, I should just assume a giant unicorn filled with pixie dust dropped on your house and filled your stockings with orange slices.

Now that the insults are over, I will wait until after christmas to see if they are gone. If they are still cu coaches, we can continue our pillow fight..

The last time you freaked out about slow movement equaling no movement (in response to the RG article) we got a coaching change the next day. Hopefully that trend continues and we can now expect another change announced tomorrow.

You're onto something sir....but asking a question isn't freaking out. I expect you to know the difference.

Certain people on here seem to take more joy in immediately jumping on the negative bitch train, than they did in seeing CU win the south championship. You're a loop track of negativity.

There has been talk that one or both will not be back next year. As we know, MM works at a snails pace.

I'm bored so my current theory is Tanner Engstrand, USD's AHC/OC/QB coach. He followed Chev/Adams very recently and then McChesney followed him for some reason, seems like that'd be an odd coincidence but I realize that's pretty weak. Twitter stalking isn't as good as it used to be.

I love reading these bios on some obscure coach at some rinky dink school somewhere and trying to justify in my head how they will be the next super Coach. Nothing personal Jeric

SIAP, but I feel obligated to make a baseless suggestion to go get a former Buff.

How about Koy Detmer?

He has a good resume.

I mean, I don't know about his recruiting chops, but he definitely fits the profile for what we'd want. Veteran coach with a lot of experience working with QBs, who have been pretty successful in their leagues, and his offenses have been pretty good.

Great experience to complement our rookie OCs.
Yeah, I don't see much that one can't like here. I think everyone is resigned that we need a young recruiter at this position, but getting someone who is an experienced OC and QB coach is more ideal with an inexperienced OC. Got to like his experience in So Cal as well.

I loved last season, lots to be negative about since the Utah game last year. The fact that you don't get it is no shock.

Not sure why you wouldn’t want Koy?! Has ties to Texas high school football, alum, and played qb at the pro level. That still carries weight.
The thread names most CU QB in memory as a possibility. Please.

I love Koy, but he is a HS coach. What P5 program would hire a HS coach as QB AC?

Noticed Toyama followed Hawaii legend/Nevada WR coach Timmy Chang. You never know with MacIntyre..
That would be ok with me. I like it actually, provided there are more changes at other spots. He Has OC expierence, played in the NFL and could come in at a reason salary. Allowing other money to go to a new RC. If this is the only move MMac makes, it will be very discouraging.
