After watching a bunch the replays from last year and Noyer not being affraid of contact, I feel better about picking up first downs on QB scrambles. I got tired of Montez "Turtling" any time he felt pressure when he could have run for first down. We'll see in 8 days I guess.

Yes, which we all clearly knew. Would Lytle being named starter make you feel better?
Yes, because it would meant the chances of one of the QBs being decent were better. Now we have a half win by the other guy, which is worst case scenario.

For me, and maybe others, the disappointment comes from the fact that we knew coming in that CU didn't have an all-conference QB ready to takeover. We had two guys who could never really contribute at the position, and then a true freshman who we have heard good reports on. Common sense and hope told me that this staff would look toward developing the future of the position and roll with Lewis.

From reports it sounds like this staff never even seriously considered Brendan and now here we are with a dude who was moved to safety about to start the season, and a guy who couldn't beat out the aforementioned safety as his backup. When does Lewis get experience or a shot? It’s wash, rinse, repeat with CU and failing to develop QBs.

Oh I agree completely. I have said from the start that Lewis should be QB1. To me, it feels like people think KD and Langsdorf are going with Noyer only because he's the older veteran guy and not because he performed better than Lytle.

I think the safety thing is completely overblown. We didn’t have enough bodies back there and it’s not like lytle could transition back there and Noyer ended up playing we got so banged up. It’s also a different staff making this decision.

Has anyone ever heard how the other players feel about Noyer? Is he well liked and respected? ...or do we just not know anything about the guy

We have no idea how this will turn out but a few things are for certain; Noyer ain't afraid to hit, will do anything for his team, and clearly has high football intelligence if he can shift to Safety see playing time and then be invited back into the QB competition and win the job. I am disappointed Lewis wasn't able to win the job, but he's young and the future is still bright. Noyer being named QB does not change how I view this team one iota. Coming into the season we all knew the QB position was the biggest question mark, but we also knew the Buffs are loaded at RB, have a solid line, and a really good Defense. What has changed by naming Noyer starting QB?
