2013-14 CU MBB SOS Watch (OOC & Pac-12 Opponents)

Wednesday, 2/12, games we care about:

UT Martin (7-19, 2-9) @ SE Missouri St (13-12, 4-7). Surprisingly, this one's on CBSSN at 5pm.

Baylor (14-9, 2-8) @ TCU (9-13, 0-10). 5pm on ESPNU. We need Baylor to win this one.

Georgia (12-10, 6-4) @ Miss State (13-10, 3-7). 7pm on ESPN3. This would get UGA closer to the Top 100 RPI. Knocking on the door.

Stanford (15-7, 6-4) @ Washington (13-11, 5-6). 7pm on ESPN2. Game of the night for us. We played UW twice, so their record impacts our RPI more than Furd's. And a Furd loss puts them a game behind the Buffs in the conference standings.

Air Force (9-13, 3-8) @ San Jose State (6-17, 0-11). 8pm on ROOT. Any AFA win, especially a road win, is a blessing.

Cal (15-8, 6-4) @ Washington State (9-14, 2-9). 9pm on ESPNU. Same story as the Furd-UW game, but less hope in this one. Wazzu could help us a lot in the conference here, though, while giving us a small RPI bump.

It looks like Elon @ Furman got postponed due to the weather.

Pitt losing to Cuse helped CU's RPI positioning. We came into tonight at #25. Pitt was #26.

#21 RPI Oklahoma with a bad home loss to #126 Texas Tech... good for CU's positioning.

Glad Washington beat Stanford. With a CU loss pretty likely tomorrow (prove me wrong, Buffs), we need the 4 loss teams to lose.

Hell yes!

Washington takes down Stanford! Buffs get a game clear of Furd in the loss column and UW (#82 RPI pregame) pretty much cements a final RPI in the Top 100 --- so the road loss won't be a bad loss for CU and the home win goes in the books as a quality win. Very, very nice result for us!

New Mexico, which was 1 spot ahead of CU in the RPI ranks, just fell at Boise State.

Stanford looks like a tough matchup for us. They are very long and athletic and play good transition defense.

Is this Powell's 8th year at Stanford? Get better Wes that is who you are guarding.

Everything points to this being a tough match-up, they definitely limit transition opportunities and don't allow many shots around the rim in the half-court, but I've watched entirely too much Stanford bball this year to not believe that if CU's physical with Powell and Nastic that CU's front-court will dominate.

Air Force is in its 6th straight game it led with 5 minutes remaining... they lost the last 5. 1 point lead on SJSU and Spartans have the ball with 17.7 left.

AFA holds on for the road win, 51-48. Continues a very good night for the Buffs.

Cal's in a dogfight with Wazzu in Pullman. 59-58 with 6:34 and Coug's ball. Lacy is going OFF!
