2013-14 CU MBB SOS Watch (OOC & Pac-12 Opponents)

I'd be surprised if they were that high. Don't think home wins over Colorado and Utah will be enough to push them 8-10 spots in votes

I don't think so either. I said they deserved to be. RPI is 15. They're 20-5 (9-3). I thought it was criminal that they didn't crack the Top 25 last week.

Stanford wins at Wazzu. That road trip to the Bay Area to finish the season is shaping up as a big one.

Baylor finally going to get the win over KSU in 2ot. Big win for them, had to have it.

Big win for us. That loss to them was starting to cause people who looked at it to do more than shrug it off. This starts moving them back to the Top 50.

Arkansas State, AFA and CSU all lost.

Tough day for the SOS. Dropped from 15 to 22.

I was wondering earlier today about which team would pull the rip cord first, bailer, okie lite, or oregano. Hate 'em, but the bears might just end their free fall before it's too late.

Don't be shocked if Oregon wins 6/7 to end the regular season. Favorable, home heavy remaining schedule. Ducks still have some life if those 2 point losses at Zona and ASU haven't completely demoralized them.

Part of what I considered. I also think there's an outside chance that the 3 game hiatus might do young Mr Smart some good, and that the c'boys might finish strong. Bailer was the one I figured had the least chance of pulling a rabbit out of the hat. I may be wrong (definitely not a first).

Okie Lite faces Baylor next in Waco, so hey, somebody has to win. Just completely inexcusable these two are tied for next to last in the Big XII. Hope Smart can revive them for our sake, but both teams have some pretty tough remaining games.

I think Smart is suspended for that game as well. Bailer prolly wins the pillow fight and lo and behold, they're on a win streak.

Speaks volumes about their respective coaches, who are both recruiters first and second/third rate gametime coaches.

Win did nothing. We're still 28 RPI...beats the monstrous tumble a loss would have provided. ASU is 29 FYI

The big thing here is that it kept CU's resume clean. Not a single bad loss all year. I'll update the OP and write some notes tonight.

No Change
Kansas stayed at #1
Arizona stayed at #2

Rising
Baylor improved from 54 to 50
UT Martin from 332 to 319
Wyoming from 104 to 83
Arkansas State from 192 to 172
Air Force from 268 to 254
Elon from 153 to 152
Georgia from 115 to 89
ASU from 40 to 28
Cal from 52 to 45
UCLA from 19 to 12
Utah from 103 to 92

Falling
Jackson State dropped from 274 to 292
UCSB from 86 to 91
Harvard from 51 to 54 (despite going 2-0)
CSU from 126 to 150
Okie Lite from 35 to 43
Oregon from 42 to 44
Oregon State from 77 to 82
Stanford from 45 to 48
USC from 135 to 148
Washington from 82 to 85
Wazzu from 158 to 179

CU’s RPI dropped from 25 to 27, mostly because of Washington State being a team we beat twice falling to 2 Pac-12 teams we haven’t played yet (Cal & Furd). Basically, this week was a wash for the Buffs. And that’s not a bad thing considering how strong the resume was entering the week. Basically, CU held serve.

From realtimerpi; only chance the Buffs have of playing another game against a 100+ rpi team would be if the yoots went on a serious losing streak.

2012-2013 Pacific-12 standings

Jackson State just got itself a nice conference road win at Texas Southern.

Useful.

baylor OMG FAIL . turnover on inbounds pass up 3 with 2.9 seconds left. OSU takes it and makes the 3. OT

that is a crazy amount of movement.

Lot of teams bunched together.

If Baylor holds on to beat Okie Lite that should help our resume. It's a wash except for the very fact that the 2 teams played improves our SOS, but a road loss to a Top 50 doesn't really hurt OSU and Baylor needed this home win badly to stay in the conversation.

We've got a few tonight that we care about:

Kansas is at Texas Tech. On now, no tv. Would be another solid win. Up 23-16 at 7:10 in the 1st.

CSU hosts Boise State. 7pm, ESPN3. CSU can get a quality win.

Georgia at Tennessee. 7pm, ESPN. Game of the night for us. If UGA can win, our win gets even prettier. Plus, this would knock Tennessee off the bubble.

Wyoming hosts Fresno State. 7pm, ROOT. Important game for the Pokes to cement a Top 100 RPI.

Another game I'll throw in for tonight: #15 Iowa visits a struggling Indiana. Iowa is way over-rated in the polls and are only #48 RPI. They lose this and they may be on the wrong side of the bubble despite the national perception.
