They're generally negative or meh. Not excited they got him at all.
Ha that’s definitely not the general consensus. A couple posts pointing to his mediocre stats. Plenty of “we got a good one guys” posts. Mostly, that fan base is waiting for Caleb Williams to commit so nothing is all that exciting to them outside of that.

Just cause you said he would get left behind, doesn’t mean you should lie about this

Best case scenario, he's going in as their WR3 but most likely WR4 behind M. Williams, C. Williams, and Bryant (who will beat him out as kick returner #1). Its a foregone conclusion that Riley will bring in at least 1 elite level WR recruit and possibly another top level transfer in next years cycle. I see Rice getting buried on their depth chart sooner rather than later. Don't get me wrong, Rice is decent player, but I think Riley is using him to fill a temporary gap in the roster (due to McCoy and London's departures). I don't think Rice chose well for himself (with respect to football)

Are you going to make a post next fall eating your words if I'm right?

I doubt it.

I'm actually looking forward to 2022. A lot of new players and new coaches. Seeing some of the growth of the players with another year in Turley's strength program. The OL that should actually be coached up. I'm hoping to see some 3 TE formations. I really don't see 2022 being as bad as 2012. I hope I'm right and 90% of this Board being wrong. Go Buffs! Now let's get some good players out of the portal.
LittleBang that you?

Everyone is making fun here but if there's one thing I know, it's that whenever you count a team completely out, they win more games than you expect. It just happens that way. This team will somehow, inexplicably win 5 games and we'll all be completely shocked about it.
The fact that you even mention that, by rule, nullifies that rule.

Mixed bag. Generally, “that’s cool but what about Caleb Williams”. It must be nice to be a fan of a program that recruits so well that a guy like Rice is viewed as kind of meh by the fan base.
Well yeah. They are basically just looking at his stats relative to what they’ve got. What they aren’t doing is looking at his stats relative to the team he’s leaving.

If Caleb Williams goes to U$C, BRice will get a very nice draft bump.

This is just glaring to look at in one place (AND this was before D. Stanley and doesn’t include T. Lang).

From 24/7 (free):

Aside from Watts…“Running backs Jarek Broussard, Ashaad Clayton and Joe Davis, receivers Brenden Rice, La'Vontae Shenault, Chris Carpenter and Keith Miller [insert D. Stanley], tight end Alec Pell, offensive lineman Kanan Ray, defensive linemen Jayden Simon, Blayne Toll and Lloyd Murray Jr., inside linebacker Zephaniah Maea, cornerbacks Christian Gonzalez and Mekhi Blackmon, and safeties Mark Perry, Trustin Oliver and Curtis Appleton are other 2021 Colorado players that have entered the transfer portal since late September.

Quarterback Maddox Kopp, receiver RJ Sneed and edge player Chance Main have transferred into Colorado's program.”

What’s weird to me is that none of these sites do anything other than just “report” who is coming or going and talk about the history of the players and their stats. How is THAT the story?
Shocking to see in print. And to think a very small minority think this is good and will lead to better things

Actually NFL scouts downgrade players that are on loaded teams unless you get insane production at skills positions like WR. So if B Rice doesn't get huge production his draft stock will slip. They are more lenient to players on bad teams. B Rice may have made a mistake if he doesn't get playing time. Young players do need to play to get better.

That's a load of **** if I've ever heard it.

Tim Tebow was drafted in the first round by the Broncos. Played on a loaded Florida team. Was a bust in the NFL. The NFLscouts learn from past mistakes. Well most do, some still make the same mistakes. Why do you think the Alabama QB Jones fell to the 15th pick in the NFL draft? If the Patriots didn't take him. He would have fallen out of the first round.

Most scouts agreed Tebow was not a good NFL QB prospect. There was one guy in the NFL who thought he could make him into one and he was proven wrong.

Also, way to use a 15th overall pick in a really good QB draft to prove your point.

The Alabama players that get drafted in the first round. Get a lot of playing time and have huge production. B Rice may not get the playing time and the production at USC. The first question they will ask is why is he not proeducing on a loaded Bama or USC team?
If he doesn’t produce at USC he won’t be thought very highly of in the draft, just like every other player who doesn’t produce at any program.

Cool story, bro. Do tell us more about this theory. And bring some real scouting/draft data to back it up. I'll wait...

Something tells me B Rice will be fine at USC. At times during the 2021 season, he was perhaps the only player I thought gave a damn. He periodically attempted to hoist the team on to his back and ball out for a time. He may not start but he’ll compete and he’ll make some good coin parlaying his game and his name.
