2024 Game 1 Official Thread: NDSU @ COLORADO on ESPN at 6

Huh. That doesn't seem right. That damn QB kept extending drives with his legs.
He was but we completely shut down their actual running game. The only thing they really had was the QB scrambles and QB power when they jet/orbit motioned to the opposite side.

The fact that we shut down their traditional run game bodes really well for most of this season, IMO

Barnett seemed insightful when he first started doing radio, but he seems to have lost that

You're such a backtracking little clown, claiming all week NDSU would win and your "model" backed it then you accuse CU of taking cheap shots and getting lucky with calls but ignores all the non-calls on NDSU. Oh you want to say that catch was lucky, ignoring Hunter does that, how about their being no flag there? How about the INT when the defender dove into the WR that created contact while the ball was in the air? How about the no call hold on the 1st TD?

Bitch made.
I said that and it’s true. But regarding “The Model” I said it was telling us to take the points. It was pointing to the upset win so use the winning from the spread bet to finance the huge money line. I recommend a ratio of 2:1 which we did. You probably said something like the buffs will put 50 on The BISON.

As it was the “The Models” advice was correct and those that followed it got rewarded. Those that ignored it didn’t get their chocolate milk, they paid for mine instead.

it’s not about rooting for the home team, it’s about beating those incredible Las Vegas odds makers and their mighty computer MIDAS. It’s not easy. This week was a win for us. Because you may be lucky enough to know what the GAM says doesn’t mean you should ever follow it. It’s not always right, in fact it’s only right about 75% of the time.

In fact South Dako State is getting hammered right now 41-20 by OSU and the 18.5 you could get this morning probably won’t help. We didn’t take any position in this game even though the GAM indicated possible upset. Just no confidence in the Jacks who lost a lot to the NFL and graduation abd ISU is a very powerful squad.

Early line on the Nebraska game is
CO Buffs -3
Nebraska 22 Co Buffs 25
O/U: 47.5

This will change after their UTEP game. I dont expect the odds makers will post this game until Sunday.
I guess I didn’t know how bad Nebraska is. I hear they are for real again this year though. 😂

Prime is impressed with your back pedaling ability, great hip fluidity

Line won't change much if at all after UTEP. UTEP is tissue paper, meaningless as a measure of how a team will fare against a P4 team.

Re-watched the game

I'm not good at this, but I noticed a few things.

NDSU stunt blitzed in the second half on CU's oline and it seemed to work. I remember that being a problem last year once teams got film.

CU's pass game is absolutely elite. Holy. ****

That offensive game plan seemed crazy vanilla. I've seen this with Shurmur before, so if that is all he has, he should be tarred and feathered. I can't fathom squandering this elite talent in the pass game. There has to be more (I think there is) but that was the most ugly, pretty game ever on offense.

I'm more confused than before the season. Ugh
I disagree with the passing game analysis. Just taking the first Horn TD, the D was in a two deep shell and CU ran three WRs deep, causing the safeties to split leaving the center wide open for a super straight pass from #2. We struggled last year with throwing in the middle of the field. We did that same thing again until they began backup their LBs.

I thought we had open receivers all over the field last night.

You must be the guy that didn’t take my advice and lost a thousand? I have his money.

what about those that had the spread at 18 or were predicting a Co rout? If they bet I have their money too.

Winners collect from losers.

I think speed won the game and of course the lucky catch. Overall the teams were well matched as I had stated earlier. No overall talent disparity. There were some outstanding players on the field.

Co has a pretty good football team but you got took for 35 million. The buffs aren’t even a 10 million dollar team but a 10 million dollar team can go a long way, as many of you are hoping.

Best of luck against the Cornhusker’s. Because Co appears to be over rated I’ll be running the stats through the GAM system and see if I can pick up another generous spread. This could get to be a habit!
We win. You lose. The End.

Perhaps the wrong thread to post this…..i am thrilled by the support from CU and Prime fans throughout the country. I have seen it at Folsom, the airport, my hotel, and around town. And, especially from many black supporters who fly in for the games. Incredible support!!. It makes me emotional.

CP is making connections to folks nationwide. It has been inspirational for me. I have talked to people who in the past I would have ignored (and vice versa). For example, at the Drury Inn yesterday morning at breakfast, a “go buffs” from me resulted in a conversation with a gentleman who talked about the Buffs defense and what they need to do. I had other experiences at the airport with unbelievably incredible folks. Sorry for the long post. But I am a better person because of CP.

rewatching the "highlights" focusing on the right side of our offensive line and, well, i hope benson is in the film room. love his leadership and fight in camp, but there were a few plays where he didn't block anyone and then was just looking around like "where'd WHO go". i'm no expert so maybe he was fulfilling an assignment, but seemed passive at best.

watching the left side, seaton wasn't perfect, but when he was in trouble he chased and moved and did something, like he took it personal. two times i saw mayers intentionally pass off a rusher to zilinskas only for the rusher to swim through them.

basically, i see talent with issues that should be cleaned up after they watch film.

That was my thought as well, it's less of talent issue and more of the coordination issue. That real question is, can they correct them in 1 week?

OL takes time to learn to work together, as I understand it. This was 5 guys who have never played together in a game.

There’s a reason OLs get better and improve even year to year. I’m pleased with the talent we have and think they’ll get more and more in sync each week.
