Ladies and gentlemen, the Prime effect

Enjoy the ride. These talk shows on ESPN have horrible ratings and are just there for clips. What gets engagement? Deion Sanders. I have a hard time believing that Juju would commit to CU if Prime didn't say he was going to be there for the long-term.

The one thing (with the NFL) that I keep pointing back to is he has never said once he's interested in the NFL. He has said multiple times that he has no desire to coach in the NFL. When he was at Jackson State, he said in his 60 minute interview that he would have to consider going to our P5 job if the opportunity presented itself. That's completely different than his communications to the NFL. He's happy here. As long as he believes he is getting paid market value, he isn't leaving.
Shedeur on his podcast ended up talking about being on his own as he was talking about the NFL because most 22-23 year olds do want to be able to say they can do it on their own. Prime will help script where he goes and how he gets treated, and I have a weird feeling that Shurmur may go with him, which is not a huge loss, but Prime is not going with him.

Prime did his job as a dad by going into coaching at the youth, high school and college levels to set the table for his sons. I don't think he's interested in continuing to have that level of parenting over their adult lives. It's time to let them spread their wings. The real question is on how long and how passionately he's into coaching when it's not about his kids.

He seems to love it and his favorite level is college, being a secondary father figure helping boys become men. CU just needs to make sure that he's got everything he wants & needs and pays him what he's worth, and there's no reason I can think of why he would leave to coach somewhere else.

Next year will be the real test about whether Prime CU has ratings staying power or if it was more about the curiosity and hate watching in year one and then Shedeur and Travis in year two. If CU is still generating over 6m views against ****ing Kansas next year, there probably needs to be a conversation about CU getting a bigger chunk of the pie in the Big 12, or TS, CP and RG need to be having conversations with the B1G or SEC. I know it's mostly contingent on Prime being here, but if the administrative investment in football at CU stays strong post-Prime, CU is a brand that will attract viewership.

Even back in the early to mid 90s we were regularly on the ESPN night game and back then there weren't nearly as many TV games and ESPN had the only night game in CFB. So yea we should continue to attract good viewership post-Prime as long as we're in the CFP discussion.

This is where there should be a $10 Million TV Pool and using this exact measurement of the total percentage of viewers that you capture is the amount of the pool that you get. If the League were to get a total league sponsorship, that is what should get split up because of the views of that sponsor created.

Colorado is 22.6% of the total views, so give us a check for $2,260,000 and give Houston a check for $220,000, wah wah

CU has drawn the same number of viewers as the next 3 teams combined.

Of note, those 3 teams got a boost because they played CU or they'd probably be behind BYU which had been a highly ranked team all season.

Also of note is that everyone else has non-Nielsen games which weren't included in their average viewership. So their average we're looking at is after taking out what would have been their 1-4 lowest rated games. Every CU game has been a Nielsen game which actually brought value to the conference.

4BTDs - do you have the link to that data? I'm curious how we compare with the B1G, SEC, ACC plus Notre Dame on average audience.

That data was computed by @Wildute, so he does have the base data somewhere and he has shared it on that Big12 Mafia Youtube show.
Colorado is in the top 5, but when top B1G and SEC teams play, that is when they get big numbers.
This is how we get into the P2

(1) that’s amazing; but, (2) playing devil’s advocate isn’t this why we left the B12 the first time … seems a little hypocritical to ask for the same thing 2 years after our fortunes changed
