I can somewhat agree. We really don't know if it would help Lewis or the program to start him right away or not. I think the big kicker here is no spring ball. If Lewis had spring ball, then I think we have a better idea of where he would be at. Ultimately, 90% of QB's at this level need at least some acclimation to the game and sometimes it does take time. Now saying that, if Lewis doesn't have packages, or at least get some run this year, then I think the questioning can most certainly happen.Regardless of the uniqueness of this season, anyone suggesting Lewis start even if he's not ready is crazy. You want to completely ruin a kids future? Throw him in and get him killed and destroy his confidence.
Most of the frustration with the QB position revolves around really not knowing what we have with Lytle and Noyer. We kind of know what we have with Noyer, but have no idea with Lytle. The fact that neither got really any run except for in dire times, tells most that neither are good enough at this level, so we might as well go with the more heralded freshman.
